Before the lesson
Use the single adults/teens page. There is no fixed key; fictional organisations or projects can avoid sensitive personal disclosures.
- Read the examples and compare ride out with bounce back and turn the corner. Identify resources someone could fall back on.
- Discuss the eight prompts, giving reasons for waiting, changing direction or restarting. Consider how available support affects willingness to take risks.
- Evaluate an imagined delay that reveals an error. Discuss why calling another person's setback a blessing in disguise may minimise their experience.
Support and extension
Support with a project timeline. Extend by proposing observable signs of recovery and suitable support, rather than assuming resilience means managing without help.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
