Before the lesson
Prepare the one-page adult B2 sheet. There is no fixed key. Read the complete examples, including the department complaint illustrating pass the buck.
- Compare pitch in, pull your weight and go the extra mile: joining in, contributing fairly and exceeding expectations are different.
- Discuss the eight questions in pairs, explaining how to check shared understanding and decide whether to take on extra responsibilities.
- Practise an imagined project handover, then discuss how passing the buck differs from a clear transfer of responsibility.
Support and extension
Offer a small group-event scenario for support. Extend by agreeing on reasonable limits to extra effort rather than assuming good teamwork means accepting every request.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
