A simple way to teach it
Before the lesson
Choose two contrasting jobs and mime or describe one typical task for each.
- Have learners underline the main action in each clue before guessing a job.
- Pairs solve long titles such as hairdresser using the parts they already know and the crossing letters.
- Check the puzzle, then let each learner describe one job for their partner to guess.
Support and extension
Allow beginning solvers to choose from a short job list. Ask faster learners to add where a person in that job might work.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
