Before the lesson
Set up the one-page board with a die and counters, keeping the example page separate.
- Show how horse and mouse can support bigger than, then elicit a second adjective that fits the same pair.
- Players compare the landed pair and add context when the claim depends on preference or a particular example.
- During feedback, contrast shorter -er forms with more comfortable and less expensive from the examples.
Support and extension
Opinions may differ. Judge the comparative construction and whether the pair is meaningfully compared, not whether every player shares the stated preference.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
