Before the lesson
Allow 20-25 minutes for the two student papers and retain the answer page.
- Point out that the first section uses letters while the second requires written language; keep the grammar content unaided.
- In feedback, use the wall, restaurant and motorbike examples to separate prepositions, third-person verbs and ability structures.
- Ask learners to correct one wrong answer and explain it with a fresh sentence before agreeing the next practice activity.
Support and extension
For repeat checking, compare the pattern of errors rather than only the total out of 20. The three forms are matched in scope, not statistically equated.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
