A simple way to teach it
Before the lesson
Choose a real task from the current lesson. Clarify the difference between understanding the instructions and knowing an answer.
- Read the task-checking rows and practise confirming whether to write full sentences or work in pairs.
- Use a phrase such as Let's compare our answers during a genuine pair task, adding a reason when answers differ.
- Respond to a teacher instruction by explaining it in simpler words, using the lower table as a reference.
Support and extension
Support with one phrase for checking and one for uncertainty. Extend by paraphrasing a task and asking a partner to confirm it. No separate exercises or key are supplied; use the expressions naturally rather than requiring every phrase in one exchange.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
