Before the lesson
Use the A1 sheet with adults or teens. Model the phrases and accept short discussion answers; no fixed key is needed.
- Demonstrate look at, listen to and write down with a visible word or picture. Retain the prepositions in the first two phrases.
- Work in pairs and take turns asking the eight questions. Let learners use Please say it again, slowly whenever needed.
- Try a short read-aloud or word-recording activity, then discuss preferences for speaking and pair work without requiring everyone to stand.
Support and extension
Support with gestures and a few phrases at a time. Extend by having learners give a partner two friendly classroom instructions.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
