A simple way to teach it
Before the lesson
Review partner, board, notebook and homework. Contrast the six o'clock start with the seven o'clock finish.
- Read to identify Leo, Anna and Sara and their roles in the lesson.
- Answer six questions in full sentences, finding the notebook detail and the final food discussion in the text.
- Check page 3 and talk about when learners study English and whom they speak it with.
Support and extension
Use a people-and-activities list for support. Extend by sequencing the lesson with first, then and at the end. The comprehension answers come from Leo's story; the study prompts are open and may describe solo learning or an imagined class.
