Before the lesson
Review favourite, snack, convenience store and restaurant. Provide food vocabulary suited to the class. Learners can invent examples or say they do not use a service; avoid judging dietary choices or requiring personal food restrictions.
- Model a preference with a reason, then rehearse answers to questions about cooking and usual breakfast.
- Write responses, checking the time reference: usual meals, last night's dinner and experiences introduced by have ever.
- Compare with the page 2 models and revise unclear sentences. As an optional speaking finish, share a favourite dish and ask one follow-up question.
Support and extension
For support, offer I usually eat…, I ate… and I can make… starters. For an extension, combine selected answers into a short food profile with reasons. Accept varied answers, including no favourite fast-food place or no unusual-food experience. The models are language examples, not nutrition advice or required preferences.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
