Before the lesson
Set up groups of two to four with a die, counters and the one-page board.
- Demonstrate cooking dinner tonight, then change the subject to show why am becomes is or are.
- On each landing, players add a plausible future detail instead of simply reading going to plus the verb.
- Listen for omitted be and collect examples for a quick correction round after the winner reaches FINISH.
Support and extension
Plans may be invented. Challenge stronger groups to explain a reason or ask when, while keeping the target sentence central to each turn.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
