A simple way to teach it
Before the lesson
Write a price and a larger payment on the board and ask what the customer gets back.
- Have learners group clues about money separately from clues about people or objects.
- Compare receipt and change by asking which one shows how much was paid.
- Use the answer page to check the spelling of queue and trolley, then act out a purchase.
Support and extension
Give pairs invented prices and have them ask about a discount before they pay.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
