Before the lesson
Print the A2 page. Its eight prompts are open-ended; invented shopping experiences are acceptable and no answer key is required.
- Read the examples and compare look for with ask for. Check try this jacket on and pay for the drinks as complete patterns.
- Discuss purchases, payment and eating out in pairs. Give extra preparation for the question about having taken something back.
- Act out a short cafe exchange ending with Could we have the bill, please? Then discuss different ways friends might share the cost.
Support and extension
Support with item pictures and dialogue starters. Extend with a return-to-shop conversation, keeping the aim on language rather than real consumer-law advice.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
