Before the lesson
Use the single A2 discussion sheet. Give thinking time and allow short reasons; the eight answers are open-ended.
- Read the examples of meet up, come along, find out and call back. Identify who invites, needs information or returns a call.
- Discuss the eight prompts in pairs, using the time expressions accurately and asking a simple follow-up question.
- Plan an imaginary after-class outing, finding out opening times and agreeing when to meet. Include one change you will make from now on.
Support and extension
Offer sentence starters and a fictional timetable for support. Extend by comparing a current activity with a future habit, without turning the sheet into a full tense lesson.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
