Before the lesson
Use the one-page A2 sheet with adults or teens. No fixed key is needed; fictional households are suitable for all eight prompts.
- Read the examples and demonstrate the differences between tidy up, put away and pick up. Explain wash up as washing dishes in this sheet.
- Discuss chores, pet care and borrowing in pairs. Use the question about helping someone who cannot pick up a dropped bag.
- Make a brief moving-house help plan with look after, take out and help out. Review full phrases and polite requests.
Support and extension
Support with objects or pictures. Extend by replacing nouns with pronouns, as in put them away and give it back; avoid assuming chores belong to any particular family member.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
