A simple way to teach it
Before the lesson
Use page 1 as the reference and page 2 for practice. Let learners study the table first, then cover it if you want a recall check; there is no separate answer-key page.
- Read the three columns and notice more / most alongside further / furthest and better / best.
- Complete the 15 rows on page 2. Identify which column is missing before writing, since some gaps need the base adjective rather than a comparative.
- Check against page 1 and explain spelling or irregular forms. Optionally write a comparison of two things and a superlative about a clearly named group.
Support and extension
For support, keep the reference visible or complete a few rows together. For an extension, use the adjectives in meaningful comparisons instead of only reciting forms. The table models more polite / most polite; politer / politest are also possible. Include the where the table requires it. The reference gives model forms; optional sentences require meaning checks as well as accurate endings.
