Before the lesson
Clarify meanings using short contexts, especially feasible, detrimental and worthwhile. Page 1 serves as the checking reference; there is no separate key page.
- Read the adjective, comparative and superlative columns, retaining complete multiword or hyphenated forms.
- Complete the 15 gaps on page 2, supplying the base adjective when that is the missing column.
- Check the forms. Optionally compare proposals using feasible, sustainable or far-reaching and explain the comparison.
Support and extension
For support, study a small selection before doing all rows. For an extension, distinguish a more comprehensive answer from a more concise one. Treat comparisons involving negligible or widespread as context-dependent, not automatically natural in every sentence. Include the in the superlative column.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
