Before the lesson
Clarify celebrity, role model, public interest and private life. Learners can say they have never met a celebrity and explain how they might react.
- Write a real or hypothetical encounter and an imagined meeting, distinguishing past experience from would-based plans.
- Develop an opinion about privacy or role models with a reason and an illustrative situation.
- Compare with page 2 and revise an answer about fame or responsibility so it recognises an alternative view.
Support and extension
For support, use I admire... for... and However,.... For an optional extension, distinguish recognition for someone's work from interest in their private life. Avoid unverified gossip or accusations; the examples are not a factual celebrity profile.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
