Before the lesson
Print the first two pages and keep the answer explanations for marking.
- Ask learners to work through the eye-test, wish and evidence examples independently before considering the short answers.
- During review, trace who assessed the evidence in the participle-clause item and when the suspect's departure occurred.
- Compare paired targets and use the unnecessary-payment note to check whether the learner understood the action as completed.
Support and extension
A second contextual example is more informative than immediately repeating the same answer. Use these results alongside discourse samples rather than infer an overall level.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
