Before the lesson
Print student pages 1-2 only and allow 25-35 minutes for both.
- Keep the Friday-to-Saturday reporting context intact; do not remove the dates when explaining how to take the test.
- During feedback, compare the hypothetical phone-number condition with the improving-weather condition.
- Use each paired recognition/production result to select a short revision activity and a later transfer question.
Support and extension
The paper samples grammar understanding, not every intermediate structure. Avoid treating an isolated correct guess or a raw total as a level judgement.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
