Before the lesson
Review household, appliance, furniture and utilities. Compare organise as a verb with tidy as used in the shared-room sentence. Learners may describe an imagined home rather than private living arrangements.
- Attempt the gaps, using grammar clues and the meaning of the whole sentence.
- Compare responses and check page 2. Practise do the laundry, household chores and a spacious apartment.
- Discuss the three printed prompts, explaining a disliked chore, an aspect of comfort or a possible local improvement.
Support and extension
For support, sort actions, household items and descriptive words. For an extension, describe an ideal shared living room using target vocabulary. The bank constrains gap answers, while discussion varies. Do not require exact addresses or judge learners' homes. The repair sentence is a language example, not a statement of tenancy obligations.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
