Before the lesson
Contrast What is it like? for a description with What do you like? for a preference. Learners may use imagined experiences and skip intimate questions.
- Describe one familiar experience using an adjective, a reason and an example.
- Write about less familiar experiences using may or might, rather than claiming firsthand knowledge.
- Compare with page 2's models and revise one answer so the reader can understand the experience, not just see a list of adjectives.
Support and extension
Support with It can feel... because.... Extend by contrasting two people's possible experiences of ageing or language learning. Do not assume learners are parents, partnered or healthy; models are possible descriptions, not universal claims about relationships or health.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
