A simple way to teach it
Before the lesson
Model one digit at a comfortable size. The page has numeral shapes, not number-word spellings or printed stroke-order arrows.
- Identify a digit and trace its three dotted examples.
- Write the same digit in the blank space beside the models, checking its direction and position on the lines.
- Review a small group for recognisable shapes, then practise any reversed or unclear digit again.
Support and extension
Use finger tracing or enlarged models before pencil work if helpful. Extend with naming a digit or counting objects using separate materials. Keep number recognition separate from handwriting accuracy; the sheet is not an arithmetic exercise and has no answer key.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
