A simple way to teach it
Before the lesson
Print at a comfortable size and model one pair. The sheet provides shapes to trace, not numbered stroke directions; demonstrate a consistent formation approach separately.
- Point to a selected pair and identify which form is lowercase and which is capital.
- Trace a small group carefully, noticing height and the parts of letters extending below the line.
- Review the traced pairs and match a lowercase letter to its capital; practise another small group when ready.
Support and extension
Allow finger tracing or a larger teacher-made model before pencil work. Extend with writing a selected pair on separate paper. Do not rush all letters or treat letter names as a phonics lesson; independent-writing rows and an answer key are not supplied.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
