Before the lesson
Review reusable, single-use, packaging and polymer. Distinguish plastic bank cards from polymer banknotes; learners need not have used both.
- Describe an everyday plastic object and explain why it is useful, then develop an answer about a drawback.
- Write about packaging and local waste handling, marking uncertainty rather than assuming all plastic is recycled.
- Compare with page 2's possible answers and improve an explanation of plastic production or a practical reduction habit.
Support and extension
For support, use useful because... but... to balance an answer. Extend by comparing two ways to package the same item. The worksheet supplies model responses, not a detailed science reading or a verified guide to local recycling; avoid unsupported claims about disposal rules.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
