Before the lesson
Include comics, articles, websites and short texts, not only novels. Review fiction / non-fiction and I am reading versus I usually read.
- Read the prompts and identify what each asks. Model one full-sentence response, then keep page 2 for checking after learners attempt their own answers.
- Write habit and preference answers, then answer the current-reading and childhood questions using suitable forms.
- Optionally recommend a text using one written answer and explain who might enjoy it.
Support and extension
This is writing about reading, not a comprehension worksheet: no passage is supplied. Learners may say they have no favourite author or are not reading a book now. A proposed book is an imagined idea, not a requirement to write it. For support, provide a few sentence starters or let learners rehearse orally first. Use the models to notice useful language while preserving each learner's own meaning.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
