Before the lesson
Keep the answer page for marking and allow 25-30 minutes for both student papers.
- Have students attempt the spotless-floor and ferry items independently rather than pre-teaching the contrast immediately beforehand.
- Look for recurring confusion between must have, should not have and past-perfect background information.
- Build a short feedback exchange around the bicycle-repair item and the preference about inviting guests.
Support and extension
Use individual errors to choose a small revision set. If comparing versions, discuss the grammar evidence; the tests are not statistically interchangeable score forms.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
