Before the lesson
Use student pages 1-2 for the attempt and the explained final page afterwards.
- Remind learners to retain time references in rewrites, then allow an uninterrupted 25-30-minute attempt.
- During feedback, contrast the upcoming printer repair with the already-completed password mistake.
- Ask learners to justify the earlier-train conditional and identify the auxiliary sequence in a corrected answer.
Support and extension
Recheck a weak structure in an unfamiliar situation instead of repeating the test sentence. A total out of 20 should not become an automatic B2 placement decision.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
