A simple way to teach it

Before the lesson

Pair this page with Partner B, ESL-0996, and give partners different sheets.

  1. Model a walk answer using the complete The last time structure rather than a one-word date.
  2. Partners alternate prompts about meals, films, travel and helping someone; encourage one follow-up after each answer.
  3. Invite a few learners to report an interesting answer while you collect useful past-form corrections.

Support and extension

Use imagined experiences if a prompt has no personal answer. The sheet is for speaking; teachers need not turn all twelve exchanges into written homework.

Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
