Before the lesson
Give this page to one partner and ESL-0995 to the other.
- Rehearse The last time I read a book was... so learners notice the spoken past form of read.
- Let partners choose the next prompt instead of reading a predictable shared list; ask for a time phrase in the answer.
- Collect examples from got up, sang and rode during feedback, then let pairs try one improved response again.
Support and extension
A shorter class can select six prompts each. Keep follow-ups conversational rather than require a full report for every question.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
