A simple way to teach it
Before the lesson
Print one page per learner or pair. No maps or travel research are required. Choose six to eight prompts for a shorter lesson, and allow local trips or imagined journeys so international travel experience is not necessary.
- Start with the last-trip and preferred-destination questions. Model a brief answer followed by a reason and a detail about the journey.
- Pairs select prompts about accommodation, planning or travel problems. Encourage follow-ups about where, when and why instead of simply reading the next question.
- Finish with the one-month journey in question 20. Ask partners to propose a destination and explain how it fits their preferences.
Support and extension
For support, provide phrases such as I'd prefer… because… and On my last trip… . For an extension, compare busy holidays with slow holidays and justify a compromise. There is no answer key: listen for clear explanations and engagement with the partner's answer.
